You are planning to visit our traditional Umbraco conference in Frankfurt and have absolutely no clue what all the German words on this website are all about? Help is near! In our A-Z (or rather #-W) guide you'll find all the information you'll need.
With the festival coming up in a little less than 5 weeks, there's going to be more and more detailed news on our programme online. A good way to get up to date is using the hashtag #UmbracoFestivalDE on twitter where you'll find everything in one central feed.
The last sessions on our schedule will be finished around 6 pm. For all those who are not planning to go home any time soon, we put together a great post-festival programme at the location with live music, great snacks and a special Umbraco cocktail.
A great way to take your best memories home is the picture bingo we're currently working on. You'll get a 4x4 bingo table with ideas for festival related motives. All you have to do is take four pictures in a row (or all of them!) and post them on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #UmbracoFestivalDE. More information will be coming up right here on our blog shortly.
The Umbraco-Festival Deutschland 2017, successor of the legendary umbOktoberfest, will be held on April 28th 2017 in Frankfurt. The programme begins at 9 am. Make sure you arrive early for registration.
Learning on an empty stomach doesn't work for you? Neither for us! For this reason, we included coffee breaks at 10.30 am and 4.30 pm as well as a lunch break at 1.15 pm to our festival programme. Food and drinks are all included in the ticket price of 99 €.
Being the German city of trade fairs, Frankfurt has a huge range of hotels, which are often expensive and rather difficult to pick. This is why we put together a small pre-selection of hotels that are either close to our office or the festival location and also close to public transport stations at the bottom of the page Anfahrt & Location. We also pre-reserved rooms in the Ibis Budget City East next door to our office. You can book a room by sending an e-mail including the booking number 566708 to H9066-AM@accor.com. The nights of April 26th and 27th will cost you 49 €, the night of April 28th 45 €.
Being right in the heart of Europe and additionally the place with the largest airport in Germany, your journey to Frankfurt should be an easy one, wherever you're coming from. Frankfurt Airport is located in the southwest of the city, but only a 15 minute train ride away with the lines S8 and S9. From Frankfurt Central Station you can take public transport to practically every corner of the city.
What would an Umbraco festival be without a Keynote kickoff with all the exciting news from Umbraco's Odense headquarters? Our Keynote speakers are project manager Rune Strand and web designer Mads Rasmussen. The Keynote begins on April 28th at 9.30 am and will be held in English of course.
For this year's festival location we chose Frankfurt Design Offices in one of the prettiest districts Frankfurt has to offer. The address is Barckhausstraße 1, the close-by Underground station is called "Westend". For all of you who need an extra bit of adrenaline and decide to come by car, the next parking garage is Frankfurt Opernturm. You can find a map on the Anfahrt & Location page.
You're planning to stay a day or two longer in order to find out why the city of Frankfurt is way better than its reputation? Feel free to ask our byte5 team about all the things you should or shouldn't do. On top of your bucket list for the weekend are a visit of the river Main, climbing up the staircase to Frankfurt cathedral, checking out Römerberg with Frankfurt's historic town hall as well as the bank district with all its skyscrapers and a visit in Frankfurt's most original district Sachsenhausen with its many Ebbelwei restaurants. Never heard of Ebbelwei? Be courageous and try it!
For you a visit to a developer conference is all about meeting new and exciting people. Feel free to do so in the Design offices Eatery or the great rooftop terrace right in the heart of Frankfurt's skyline. From 9 am to 6 pm there'll be lots of space and opportunities for networking, discussing, learning and hacking.
For the fifth time the German-speaking Umbraco festival will be organised by first German Umbraco gold partner byte5, founded by Christian Wendler. Our work is based on experience and passion for the friendliest CMS in the world and the festival is our way to return to the great community what it's doing for us every day.
You're arriving a day early and have no clue about what to do with your evening? Join us for our pre-party at the byte5 office (Hanauer Landstraße 114)! Starting at 6 pm, we're organising a great evening for networking with lots of international guests and a perfect view over the Frankfurt skyline. All you need is a ticket and therefore your name on our guests list. Food and drinks are included.
Registration for the festival begins at 8 am on April 28th. Make sure you arrive early so you still have time to change in your festival shirt and have a cup of coffee before Christian from byte5 and Umbraco lifetime MVP Douglas Robar kick off the programme at 9 o' clock.
Since our guests and speakers will be from more than 5 European countries, sessions will be held in German as well as English. Check out our blog category "Meet the Speakers" for all session topics and abstracts, that will be updated twice a week for the next month. All sessions with abstracts in English (about 50% overall) will be held in English. For the German-speaking sessions there will be abstract handouts in English and of course lots of time to ask the speakers about everything you didn't understand.
Tickets can be bought online via our Eventbrite ticket shop. Currently there are two types of tickets available: Regular festival tickets for 99 €, as well as combined tickets for the festival as well as the German premiere of Jeavon Leopold's umbX workshop at the byte5 office (April 27th) for 259 €. Fees and taxes are included. If you are a speaker, you should already have received your speaker ticket via e-mail. In case you haven't contact Sandra via firstname.lastname@example.org
